During the 2016 ISM Golf Tournament we were privileged to have Ambassador J. Thomas Schieffer make remarks and present scholarship proceeds to our participating colleges.

Tom Schieffer was born and raised in Fort Worth and attended public schools.  Majoring in government with a minor in history, he earned his BA at the University of Texas Austin as well as a master's degree in international relations.  Tom was sworn in at the age of 25 into the Texas House of Representatives.  He subsequently served three terms, distinguishing himself as lead author on bills that affected childcare facilities, conservation, environment, and education.  Tom then earned his law degree and practiced corporate law in the oil and gas industry.

Active on many charitable and civic boards, Tom has earned many humanitarian awards.  His investment partnership in the Texas Rangers baseball team led to becoming president of the team.

Tom's distinguished service as Ambassador of Australia and then as Ambassador of Japan garnered international humanitarian awards, recognizing his efforts in strengthening global relations.  Currently, Tom is the founder and CEO of Envoy International LLC, a consulting firm that provides a wide range of advice to companies with international interests.

Mayor Betsy Price to Award ISM Scholarships to TCU, UNT, UTA

On September 28th ISM-Fort Worth will host the Nineteenth Annual Roy L. Anderson Memorial Golf Tournament.  In addition to an outstanding networking opportunity for sponsors and other business leaders, this event continues to provide a tremendous impact on students at three of our local universities.  Sponsors have the satisfaction of knowing that proceeds from this tournament fund supply chain education including annual scholarship award to TCU, UNT and UTA.  Over $240,000 in scholarships has been awarded to 96 students since the inception of the tournament.

This year we are honored to have Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price on hand to present the schools with the proceeds from last year's tournament.  The Mayor has a passion for education and her involvement strengthens our commitment to our core mission to support the education of future Supply Chain professionals.  Thanks for your support to this worthwhile cause.  ISM-Fort Worth is a non-profit 501C-3 organization.

Roy Leonard Anderson passed away unexpectedly on March 18, 2015.

His laughter filled the room; his smile was contagious.   All who had the privilege to serve alongside him learned to stretch further and reach higher.  Roy lead a life of service to the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, Boys and Girls Club of Arlington, ISM Fort Worth, and countless other endeavors.  He pursued several business enterprises that kept him busy as though he never retired.  His vision and enthusiasm were unmatched; he brought joy to all our lives.  As a founding member of the ISM Golf Tournament, we will miss him greatly.
